On the 1st March, during a N.E. gale ac- ! companied by a heavy ground sea, in- ; formation was received that some of the fishing craft were in distress off' the j Head. The Life-boat at the No. 1 j station was launched and convoyed them into safety. The sea by this time had increased so much that it was impossible for the boat to return to her station, she was therefore taken to the No. 2 station on the south side of the Head for the night and replaced in her own house the next day..
