HOLYHEAD, ANGLESEY.—At 4.30A.M.

on the 21st March, during a N.W. wind, signals of distress were observed in the vicinity of the " North Stack," and in response the steam Life-boat Duke of Northumberland promptly put off through a rough sea. On arriving at the vessel, which proved to be the steamship Clan Grant, of Liverpool, of more than 2,000 tons, it was found she had been in collision, and was in need of a pilot to take her to Holyhead, where she was eventually beached..
