CULLERCOATS, NORTHUMBERLAND.— The Life-boat Go-operator No. 1 was launched about 8 A.M. on the 16th January to the assistance of five fishingcobles, which had put to sea in the early morning. Shortly after the boats had gone out the N.N.W. wind increased to a gale and the sea became exceedingly heavy on the bar. On getting outside the bar the Life-boatmen warned the cobles it was impossible for them to get in in safety, and then stood by them while they made for Shields Harbour..
