APPLEDORE, DEVONSHIRE. — While the ketch Sylph, of Bideford, was bound for that port with a cargo of coal on the 15th April, she stranded on the South Tail and showed signals of distress. In response, the Life-boat Jane Hannah MacDonald was at once launched to her assistance, and within a quarter of an hour was alongside the vessel. At the request of the Master he and his matewere taken into the Life-boat and landed at Appledore..
