The S.S. Brattingsborg

LITTLEHAMPTON, SUSSEX.—The Lifeboat James, Mercer and Elizabeth was called out at 1.30 P.M. on the 26th February, by distress signals shown on the s.s. Brattingsborg, of Copenhagen, which lost her propeller about five miles south of Littlehampton, when bound from Hamburg to Cardiff. At the request of the master, the Life-boat stood by him until she was towed by a local tug into a safe anchorage. Having performed this service, the Life-boat returned ashore and was rehoused about 7 P.M. There was a moderate gale and heavy sea during this service..
