JOHNSHAVEN, KlNCARDINESHIRE. — On the 12th January, the sea being rough and a strong breeze blowing from the S.E., it was feared that the fishing-boats would encounter difficulty in making the harbour, and it was therefore decided totake out the Life-boat Meanwell of Glenbervie, so as to be ready to assist any boat requiring help. The Life-boat was accordingly launched at 12.45 P.M. ; but in leaving the harbour she collided with the pier and was stove amidships above the water-line.
