The S.S. Fal
On the 2nd October signal guns were fired by the Gull light-vessel, while a moderate gale was blowing from W.S.W.
with a very heavy sea. The Life-boat was launched at about 5.40 A.M. and found the s.s. Fal, of Falmouth, ashore on the North Sand Head, Goodwin Sands.
The services of the Life-boat men being engaged to assist in getting the vessel out of her dangerous position, they laid out an anchor and chain and on the flood tide succeeded in getting her afloat. She had a crew of ten men on board..
