BROOKE, ISLE OF WIGHT.—The schooner Noordster, of Alblasserdam, bound from Maracaybo for Hamburg, stranded on a rock, known locally as the "Oil Rock," off Hanover Point, westward of Brooke, in foggy weather on the 24th March. The casualty being observed by the Coastguard, the drew of the Life-boat William Slaney Lewis were called and at 6.25 A.M. the boat was launched, proceeded through a rough sea, the wind blowing strongly from S.W., to the vessel, which was approached with considerable difficulty, and rescued the crew consisting of seven men.
