Fishing Boats

JOHNSHAVEN, KINCARDINESHIRE.—The wind and sea having increased while some fishing-boats belonging to Gourdon were at sea on the 31st Jan., 1895, it was dangerous for them to attempt to return to their harbour. They were therefore warned off, and a message was sent bytelephone to Johnshaven stating that they were likely to make for that port. At 2.30 P.M. the Life-boat on that station, the Meanwell of Gleribervie, was launched and saw five of the boats safely into harbour. About three-quarters of an hour afterwards another boat was ob-served to be coming in, and the Life-boat went to meet her and put a man on board to pilot her into safety..
