WEXFORD. — Signals of distress were shown by the fishing-yawl Liberator, of Wexford, which had struck on the bar, there being an insufficient depth of water to enable her to cross, at 2.30 P.M. on the 23rd February. The No. 1 Life-boat Andrew Pickard was promptly manned, and sailed to the vessel. On nearing her however the boat's mast-head split, necessitating the taking in of the sail, lowering the mast and securing it with lashings; this haying been done, sail was again made, and the boat arrived alongside the yawl and took off her crew consisting of six men..
