Shamrock
DUNGARVAN, Co. WATERFORD. On the 12th January, at 5.30 P.M., the fishing lugger Shamrock, of Peel, arrived at Ballinacourty and anchored about a hundred yards from the fishery pier. At about 8.30 one of her anchors parted and the vessel dragged the other one until she struck the ground. The master thereupon made signals of distress by burning hand-lights. A strong S. gale was then blowing, thtre was a heavy sea and the weather was thick, with rain.
