M. A. Watkin

On the 19th November, the No. 1 Lifeboat Mark Lane was called out on service at 10 A.M., by signals shown by the dandy M. A. Watkin, of Grimsby, which, having lost all her canvas in the storm of the previous night, had been compelled to run under bare poles to Yarmouth Eoads where she had anchored. The wind was still blowing a perfect storm from the N.N.E., and the sea was very heavy, rendering it perilous for the crew, five in number, to remain on board their vessel, and they were therefore taken into the Life-boat and brought safely ashore..
