The S.S. Rowan

REDCAR.—The Life-boat Brothers was launched at 12.45 A.M. on the 14th April, it having been reported that a steamer was stranded on the West Eoek.

The wind was blowing a light breeze from the W., but a strong sea was running. The vessel proved to be the s.s. Rowan, of Glasgow, bound from South Shields for Bilbao with a cargo of coal, and" carrying a crew of seventeen men, all of whom were taken into the Life-boat and safely landed, the steamer having been very seriously damaged..
