On the 2nd November, when the dense thickness which had prevailed during the early part of the morning cleared, a steamer was observed ashore on the Button rocks. The Life-boat was very promptly launched and found the vessel was the Frederic®, of St. Johns, bound from Working ton for Brazil with a cargoof steel rails. Some of the Life-boat men boarded her, assisted to get her afloat, and with the help of a steam-tag she was taken beyond the Blaokwater Light-vessel.
