Civil Service Life-Boat Fund
AT the annual meeting of the committee of this fund, held on the 16th. January last, and presided over by Mr. CHARLES G. TURNER, Controller-General of Inland Revenue, Mr. CHARLES DIBDIN, the honorary secretary, reported that during the past year the fund had contributed to the NATIONAL INSTITUTION the sum of £800 to complete the purchase and endowment funds of the Life-boat Civil Service No. 6, 63Z. 17s. to recoup the Institution the amount expended by it during 1890 in rewarding the crews of the Civil Service boats, and 300?. towards the purchase of the Life-boat Civil Service No. 7, recently stationed at Kingstown. The Committee appealed for 2,100Z. to complete the purchase and endowment funds of this boat. The boats of the fund have been instrumental in saving 207 lives and several vessels.
