The S.S. Columbian

RHOSCOLYN, ANGLESEY.—The s.s. Columbian, of Liverpool, 3,300 tons, from South America, with 800 live cattle and large quantity of cotton, struck on some detached rocks in Penrhos Bay in foggy weather on the 28th September. Sue fired explosive signals, and these being heard by one of the crew of the Bhoscolyn Lifeboat he at once went to the Life-boat Station and gave an alarm. At 4.45 A.M.

the Life-boat Bamon Cabrera was launched, proceeded to the vessel, and remained by her until she floated with the rising tide about 6 o'clock. She had apparently received no damage and was able to continue her course..
