On the 21st April the No. 1 Life-boat Augusta was launched at 11.45 A.M., some of the fishing-boats having been overtaken by a strong gale from the S.S.E., a heavy sea breaking on the bar ; the weather was very thick and rain was falling at the time. The boat re- mained at the harbour bar until the Montrose boats got in, also four other boats, strangers to the port, and a small steamer, returning to her station, as no other vessels could be discerned, at 1.30 P.M..
