Dorothy Watson
WHITBURN, Co. DURHAM.—While the schooner Dorothy Watson,of North Shields, was being towed by a steam-tug in company with another vessel in a S.E. wind and a strong ground swell and surf on the 10th July, she was caught by the breakers and driven on to the rocks at the east end of WMtburn Stile and seriously damaged. The Life-boat William and Qharles proceeded to her assistance and rescued the crew, consisting of five men.
The vessel was on a voyage from Cork to Newcastle, carrying a cargo of timber..
