BERWICK-ON-TWEED.—On the 20th March, during a strong gale from "the E.N.E. and a heavy sea, the schooner Dekar, of Hull, was observed coming from the North close to the rocks, and evidently unable to clear the land. The Life-boat John and Janet was launched at 11 A.M., and proceeded to the bar to be in readiness to render assistance if required.

The vessel attempted to enter the river, but there was not sufficient water, and she struck heavily several times, and then drove ashore at Spittal Point among the breakers. The Life-boat at once went to her and rescued her crew, consisting of four men..
