Gipsy Queen
LIZARD.—The schooner Gipsy Queen, of Padstow, bound from London for Liverpool, with cement, struck on Mynheer Rocks during a moderate gale from the N.E. on the evening of the 13th March, and showed signals of distress. The Lifeboat Edmund and Fanny stationed at Polpear, put off at 7.5; sortie of her crew went on board the vessel, which was leaking badly, and tried to keep her afloat by pumping, but the water gained on them, and eventually it became necessary to abandon her, the water then" being flush with the deck.. Her crew of fourmen and a boy were taken into the iiife-boat, and safely landed, the vessel foundering shortly after she had been left..
