Glad Tidings

The Thomas Fielden Life-boat put off at 9 P.M. on the 17th May, signals of distress having been shown by the schooner Glad Tidings, of Aberystwith, in ballast, which was in a dangerous position in the bay during a strong gale from the S.W. and a heavy sea. Great difficulty was experienced by the Life-boat in getting alongside the vessel as she was labouring heavily in the trough of the sea; but eventually this was accomplished, and her crew, consisting of five men, were taken off and brought safely ashore..
