CASTLETOWN, ISLE oi1 MAN.—It was reported, on the evening of the 2nd October, that a schooner in Derbyhaven was flying a flag of distress. The Hope Life-boat was launched at 6.30, and found the vessel, which proved to be the John Perry, of Beaumaris, dragging her anchors on a lee shore. The wind was blowing from the S.W., and a heavy sea was running.

The crew of three men were taken into the Life-boat, and brought to land.

This was the first time the new Life-boat had been out on service, and her behaviour gave entire satisfaction to her coxswain and crew..
