Usko

1 It was reported at about 6.30 A,M. on the 27th November that a vessel was ashore on the Goodwin Sands.

A fresh W.N.W. breeze was blowing at the time. The Life-boat Civil Service No. 4 at once put off, and found the Bassian barque Usko, timber laden, on the sands. The crew were being taken off and placed on board a steam-tug by a Deal lugger, and, at the master's request, the Life-boat remained by the vessel until this was safely accomplished..
