Sarnian Gem
CAISTER, NORFOLK.—At noon on the 30th Jannary the No. 1 Life-boat Covent Garden put off to the assistance of the schooner Sarnian Gem, of Guernsey, bound from Guernsey to London with stone, she having apparently lost all her sails. The Life-boat boarded her in the Wold, and found that she had lost both her anchors in the Downs and had her sails split. The services of the Life-boatmen were offered and accepted, and a steam-tug having been procured, the vessel was towed to a place of safety..
