Tagus
SUNDEBLAND.—Flares were seen in the direction of Hendon Beach at 5.30 P.M. on the 12th November. The John Fouhton Life-boat was launched, proceeded to the spot, and found that the brig Tagus, of Aberdeen, bound from that port to Sunderland in ballast, had stranded on the beach. The wind was blowing from the N.N.W., the weather was very foggy, and the sea heavy. The master and crew did not wish to leave the vessel, but requested the Life-boat to remain by them, which she did, until the brig was towed off by a steam-tug..
