WELLS, NORFOLK.—On the 4th October the wind blew a gale from the N.E. during the day, accompanied by a heavy sea. The night came on very dark, but the gale slightly moderated. At about 10 o'clock a flare was observed, and the cr'ew of the Life-boat Charlotte Nicholls were at once iummon«d, the boat was promptly launched, and found the schooner Emma, of Jersey, stranded on the East Bar. Her sails had been torn to ribbons, her bulwarks washed away, and the heavy seas were breaking completely over her. Her crew of five persons, one of whom was a boy, nearly dead with cold, were taken into the Life-boat and safely landed at Wells..
