John Soyle
On the 8th September the schooner John Soyle, of Chester, was reported to haye sank on Cartmell Wharf, Morecambe Bay, during a strong W.N.W, gale and a heavy sea. At 11.45 A.M. the William Krkett Life-boat went to her assistance, and found the master, his wife, and two seamen clinging to the rigging, in a very exhausted condition. They were promptly helped into the Life-boat, and landed at Barrow, the harbour tug Ajax again assisting the Life-boat in effecting this rescue..
