RESOLUTIONS PASSED AT THE ANNUAL MEETING FOE 1883.

3.—That this Meeting, appreciat- ing the invaluable services of the NATIONAL LIFE-BOAT INSTITUTION in the philanthropic work of saving human lives, congratulates the Man- aging Committee on the continued prosperity and success which have rewarded their exertions, and which it trusts the Institution may long continue to merit and achieve.

4,—That this Meeting tenders its best thanks to THOMAS CHAPMAN, Esq., F.R.S., F.P., late Chairman; to EDWARD BIRKBECK, Esq., M.P., F.P., Chairman; to the Committee of Management; and to the Officers of the Institution for their able ad- ministration of, and unremitting at- tention to, its important and extensive affairs.
Also to the Honorary Local Com- mittees and Secretaries of the several Branches, for their earnest and active co-operation with the Parent Institu- tion.

5.—That this Meeting testifies afresh to the skill and indomitable spirit that continue to distinguish the Coxswains and Crews of the Life- boats, whose noble exertions were the means of saving no less than seven hundred and forty-one lives during the past year.
