Golden Island

HOLYHEAD.—During a heavy gale from the W., at 9 A.M. on the 14th October, signals of distress were reported to have been shown by two or three vessels anchored in dangerous positions in the bay. The Life-boat Thomas Fielden was launched, but the wind was so strong that she had to anchor and wait until a tug came to her. The tug tried for about an hour to put the boat alongside a schooner, but could not succeed, and eventually she had to drop down to the vessel under oars, and rescued the crew, consisting of four men.
