The S.S. Broomhill
SUNDERLAND.—The S.S. Broomhill, of Dundee, while endeavouring to enter Sunderland Harbour, during a strong wind from the N.E. with a heavy sea, on the 5th February, took the ground on the Bar, and was afterwards carried by the wind and sea on to a dangerous reef of rocks. The Sunderland No. 3 Life-boat Florence Nightingale proceeded to her assistance, and succeeded in taking eighteen men and a boy from her. The Sunderland No. 2 Life-boat afterwards at the request of those interested in the steamerput some men on board, who succeeded in getting her into Suuderland..
