Magdalen and the Star of Peace,

MONTROSE, N.B.—At about midnight on the 4th January it was reported that two of the large fishing-boats were ashore on the Annat Bank. The Mincing Lane Life-boat was at once manned by a crew of fishermen, and proceeded to their aid.

The fishing-boat Magdalen was found full of water, with the sea breaking over her, and the crew (two of whom were sons of the coxswain of the Life-Boat) had taken refuge on board the other boat, the Star of Peace, which was farther up on the bank, and partly sheltered by the Magdalen, but would have been in considerable danger as the tide flowed. Both thecrews, numbering in all twelve men, were taken into the Life-boat and safely landed..
