WINTERTON, NORFOLK.—The brig Gyda, of Swendsale, Norway, stranded half a mile north of this place on the 18th January. In consequence of the snowdrift it was found impossible to take the Edward BirKbeck Life-boat to the scene of the wreck on her carriage. She was then dragged along the shore on her launching- skids by the crew, assisted by a large number of men. When abreast of the wreck she was launched, and was successful in saving four of the crew. The remainder, five in number, had previously been rescued by the rocket apparatus..
