BERWICK-ON-TWEED.—On the 8th Jannary, about 2.15 P.M., the Albert Victor Life-boat was launched to render assistance to several distressed fishing-boats.

The boats went over the bar four times, and accompanied the boats in, taking two of them, having nine men on board, in tow.

But for the assistance rendered by the Lifeboat the boats would in all probability have been swamped in crossing the bar..
