On the 14th November, at about 5.30 P.M., an easterly gale suddenly sprang up, accompanied by a heavy sea. The schooner Ada, of Beaumaris, bound from Plymouth to Buncorn, with china clay, had taken refuge in the bay, as she was leaking badly, and her crew had been for fortyeight hours at the pumps. As the gale increased she slipped her cable and ran for the harbour, but missed it and went ashore. The Two Sisters Life-boat proceeded to her assistance, and safely landed her crew of four men, who were in a very exhausted condition..
