CLOVELLY.—At 5.30 A.M. on the 15th of September, the Life-boat on this station was launched during a heavy le from the N., and rescued the crew, consisting of three men, from the smack Delabole, of Fowey, bound from Par to Swansea with a cargo of granite blocks. The vessel had lost her main sheet, mainboom and gaff, and her cargo had shifted; she subsequently sprang a leak, and sank during the following night.

At the time of launching the Life-boat the tide was half ebb, with a heavy sea, and the crew were completely drenched before the boat could be got afloat..
