Two Fishing Cobles

Two fishing-cobles, with three men in each, were observed making for this harbour at 2.30 P.M. on the 15th April.

A strong E. gale had suddenly sprung up, causing a heavy sea on the bar, and the boats were in great danger of being swamped. The Life-boat Harriott Forteath went to their assistance, supplied each of the men in the cobles with a cork lifebelt, and remained by the boats until they were safely beached..
