Aid
BLAKENEY.—During a gale from the northward, on the 21st February, the ketch Aid, of Hull, bound from Barton to London, was observed riding heavily at her anchors, 4 miles from Blakeney, with a signal of distress flying. The tide being out, the Life-boat Settle had to be dragged a considerable distance over the sands, and then the bar was found to be impassable. At 4 o'clock the next morning, however, the tide serving, the Lifeboat got out of the river and succeeded in reaching the Aid. At the same time the steam-tug from Wells arrived, and the Aid, having been taken in tow, was carried safely into port, assisted by the Life-boat's crew..
