Marie Josephine

At 6.30 P.M. on the 6th November, information was received at this Life-boat Station of a vessel being stranded on the Doom bar. The Life-boat Albert Edward proceeded to her assistance, and was successful in rescuing 4 men who had been left on board by the rest of the crew. The vessel was the French brig Marie Josephine, of Cherbourg, bound from j Swansea to Caen. A gale was blowing i from the N.W., and the wreck occurred : in consequence of an attempt to enter the ! harbour at a wrong state of tide..
