Sydney Dacres

On the 16th February, a boat containing part of the crew of the ship Sydney Dacres, from San Francisco to Liverpool, which had been abandoned at sea, arrived at Knightstown, in the island of Valentia, Co. Kerry. Fourteen of the crew were still missing, and the Life-boat Mary was at once launched and proceeded to sea in search of them, when after a row of seven hours, they were found on the South-West Skellig Rock, and safely landed at Yalentia at midnight, after a very hard day's work.
