— The schooner Sweet Some, of this port, sailed thence to Cardiff on the evening of the 15th August, but in beating out of the harbour she drove ashore at Moll Goggin's Corner.

The master and boy remained oa board to try to get the vessel off, but by mid- night it came on to blow strongly from the S.W., accompanied by a heavy sea, and it was thought desirable to launch the William Beckett of Leeds Life-boat to their assistance, as a yawl, with a crew of 20 men, which had been previously sent out by the owner, had been compelled to return. After an absence of about two hours and a half, the Life-boat returned to her station with the man and boy, whomshe had eared from their perilous posi- tion..
