Fishing Boats
MONTROSE, N. B.—On the 17th April some of the fishing fleet of Montrose were caught outside the bar of the river in a sudden storm from the S.E. Many boats which were in great peril hove-to outside, unwilling to take the bar. The Life-boatMincing Lane was therefore launched at 8 A.M., and, pulling out to the bar attended each vessel, as she bore up for the attempt, and returning each time for the next boat, was ready to render assistance if any of them broached-to or foundered, and so continued till 20 open fishing boats, carrying about 100 men, were thus conveyed to a place of safety in the river..
