Resolutions Passed at the Annual Meeting for 1876

THE EARL PERCY M.P., IN THE CHAIR.

1.—Moved by the CHAIRMAN :— 1.—That the following Noblemen and Gentlemen be the Officers of the Institution for the current year :—(vide next page for this list.) 2.—Moved by GEORGE LYALL, Esq., V.P., Deputy Chairman, late Governor of the Bank of England.

Seconded by Admiral of the Fleet SIR GEORGE SARTORIUS, K.C.B.

2.—That the Report now read be adopted, printed, and circulated.

4.—That this Meeting has again the satisfaction to acknowledge the continued brave and prompt services of the Coxswains, and other Volunteers, through whose praiseworthy and noble efforts, which were unusually conspicuous last ! winter, the Life-boats of the Institution have been rendered available for the Saving of so many hundreds of Lives.

5.—Moved by The Eight Hon. the EARL WALDEGRAVE.

3.—That this Meeting, fully recognising the importance of the great and national work which the LIFE-BOAT INSTITUTION pursues, and which has hitherto been attended with such marked success, under- takes to render the Institution every possible encouragement to carry out efficiently its humane and important mission, and to make extensively known its claims on the continued support of the Public.

4.—Moved by The Eight Hon. the EARL OF COURTOWN, Seconded by "Vice-Admiral GEORGE S. HAND, C.B.

5.—That this Meeting offers its cordial thanks to THOMAS CHAPMAN, Esq., F.E.S., V.P., Chairman; to the Committee of Management, and to the Officers of the Institution, for the able manner in which they continue to administer its important and extensive affairs.

Also to the Honorary Local Committees and Secretaries of the several Branches of the Institution, for their continued able assistance.
