Marie, of Colchester

Early on the morn- ing of the following day, the large Life- boat on the adjoining station of Yarmouth, named the Mark Lane, was called out by signals of distress shown from the brig Marie, of Colchester, which was in a sink-ing state in Yarmouth Roads in a strong wind from the S.S.W., and a high sea.

The Life-boat men were at once requested by the Master to endeavour to save the vessel; accordingly some of them went on board, and after six hours hard work at the pumps the brig was freed of water, and then taken safely into harbour.
