Nigretta, of New York

The brigan- tine Nigretta, of New York, drove on the Saunton Sands, in Barnstaple Bay, early on the morning of the 15th November, in a strong W.S.W. wind. The coxswain and crew of the Braunton Life-boat George and Catherine, being on the watch, at once pro- ceeded in the Life-boat to the rescue, and were instrumental in saving 7 of the Ship- wrecked crew. The second mate of the vessel unhappily perished..
