Hope, of Portsmouth

The brig Hope, of Portsmouth, while at anchor about two miles from the mouth of this harbour, in a dismantled state, was observed to hoist signals of dis- tress, during a very high wind from the S.W., and in a heavy sea. The Life-boat Undaunted went off to her, and remained alongside until the weather moderated, when the vessel was towed into Ports- mouth Harbour by a steamer..
