J. C. Howitz, of Rostock

The life-boat at this place, named the Caroline, was off on the same day to the brig /. C. Howitz, of Rostock, which was overtaken by the gale and driven on the rocks about half a mile from the shore. There was a very heavy sea running at the time, but the life-boat soon rescued the vessel's crew of 8 men from their perilous position.
