Bonnie Lass

On the 30th September, the schooner Bonnie Lass, of Wick, struck on the rocks off' Saltburn, during foggy weather. The life-boat at the latter place went off through a heavy sea and brought ashore the mate of the vessel, with the view to his obtaining the assist- ance of a steam-tug to get the vessel off I 'again. The rest of the crew refused to leave, and remained on board until the tide had receded, when they landed without diffi- j culty, the vessel being then left high and dry..
