Friends, of West Hartlepool

It blew a hurricane here from N.N.W. on the 12th February. About seven o'clock in the evening the schooner Friends, of West Hartlepool, went ashore near the jetty. The Quiver life-boat promptly went out to her through the very heavy sea then running, and was fortunately enabled to save the shipwrecked crew of 5 men, the boat, however, being somewhat damaged in performing the service.
