A Foregin Ship

A foreign ship was observed in a perilous position off this place, during a heavy S.S.W. gale, on the 3rd January, 1869, and on her hoisting signals of distress, the life-boat Birmingham put off with the promptitude and skill which invariably characterise the movements of the Caister beachmen. The foreigners seeing the vessel of mercy ap- proaching, renewed their exertions to save their ship, and ultimately worked her off the sands.
