Jane, of Workington

On the llth December, the brigantine Jane, of Work- ington, and the schooner Prudence, of Aberystwith, drove ashore, in a very strong wind, near the North Pier, at Ramsey, Isle of Man. The Two Sisters life-boat put off through a heavy sea, and succeeded in rescuing both crews,' consisting of 8 men.

The life-boat went off again in the afternoon, in reply to signals of distress from another vessel; but the crew succeeded in saving themselves in their own boat..
